Command

Command Palette Bloom

A command palette that blooms right under its trigger and pushes the flow apart: the panel springs open, the rows arrive with a stagger, and typing filters the list.

What you can change

  • the commands array: the labels and the right-hand hint captions
  • the triggerLabel and placeholder copy
  • emptyText — the answer to an empty search

For developers

The install command lives in the “Component source” block below — a signed link that stays valid for 24 hours.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-command-015-* variables. Client-side: "use client" for search, arrow keys and the open state. The panel height is animated through grid-template-rows: 0fr → 1fr with a linear() spring curve — the only way to unfold content of unknown height without measuring it in JS; scale and opacity ride on top. The collapsed panel is removed with visibility, otherwise the input and the rows stay in the tab order. The row stagger rests on --vibeui-command-015-index inside transition-delay. Arrows walk the filtered list, Enter runs the highlighted row, and Escape or an outside click closes the panel and returns focus to the trigger. The theme comes from light-dark() plus the :where(.dark,[data-theme="dark"]) … {color-scheme:dark} rule.
