Spinner
Pulse Skeleton Card
A card skeleton built on an opacity pulse rather than a sweeping shine: the pulse is handed to the compositor and costs almost nothing across twenty placeholders.

Technical notes
A server component, there are no hooks. A sweeping shine is an animation of a large gradient, and across a list of placeholders it noticeably heats the CPU; an opacity pulse animates opacity alone, which the browser hands to the compositor. The placeholder repeats the metrics of the future card: the same line heights, the same gaps and the same image proportion, so nothing jumps once the data is substituted. The lines get small delays so that the card does not blink as a single slab. For a screen reader this is one role=status message with a name, not twenty grey rectangles. The theme comes from the surrounding color-scheme through light-dark(): the component has no background by default — it sits on the page background and darkens with it, while the background prop switches on a panel.
