What you can change

Technical notes
A client component: useState holds the array of selected ISO dates. A range does not fit here by meaning — shifts fall on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, so the toggling is per day. Every selected date is duplicated by a chip: removing a date from a grid of thirty cells is harder than from the short list beneath it. Once the limit is reached, unselected cells get aria-disabled and are dimmed, but do not disappear: vanishing buttons read as a layout bug. The "how many out of how many" counter stands in the header and changes colour at the limit. The chip's cross is drawn with two pseudo-elements, so as not to pull in an icon package for two lines.
