Technical notes
One file, zero dependencies, the --vibeui-dropdown-017-* palette. A client component: useState holds the selected field, and aria-expanded is kept in sync with the toggle event. The trigger button is a text-less icon with an aria-label assembled from the current value; the field caption stands beside it as a separate node, so the component suits a tight toolbar. The items are marked up role=menuitemradio with aria-checked inside a role=group with aria-labelledby pointing at the "Sort by" heading. The recommended field carries a badge instead of the check mark until it is chosen; after the pick the badge gives way to the check mark. The down arrow on the button opens the menu and puts the focus on the selected item.
