Range

Date Range Slider

A date range on a slider: when the dates are still fuzzy — "late September, about a week" — a calendar demands precision nobody has yet.

What you can change

  • label — the filter caption
  • startDate — the base date of the scale
  • days — the scale length in days

For developers

The install command lives in the “Component source” block below — a signed link that stays valid for 24 hours.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, zero dependencies, the palette in the local --vibeui-range-003-* variables. Client-side: state holds day numbers counted from a base date rather than the dates themselves — integers compare and step without date arithmetic. The captions are assembled through Date.UTC and printed with timeZone UTC, otherwise negative offsets shift the date a day back. There are two sliders and they lie on top of each other: the track is disabled for events, the thumbs are not. Each slider is given an aria-valuetext, so a screen reader announces the date rather than the day number.
