Accordion

Keybed Accordion

A section here is a key, and exactly one stays pressed: the open one drops, loses its bottom edge and settles into the bed, while the bed between the keys does the work of a border.

What you can change

  • the items array: questions and answers
  • travel — the press depth in pixels, 0–4; zero turns the keys into tiles
  • ground — the bed colour; the key and its edge are derived from it

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in local variables --vibeui-accordion-013-*. Exclusivity is held by the name attribute on details, and the design shows exactly that: one key stays pressed. The travel is set by the travel prop and lives in the --vibeui-accordion-013-travel variable, and the offset, the bottom edge and the inner shadow are all computed from it. The edge is drawn with a shadow rather than a border: a border would add height to the row and the travel would turn into a jump. The focus ring wraps the whole key through :has(summary:focus-visible). The dark branch reverses the physics: the shadow under the key is replaced by a recess darker than the bed, and the indicator picks up a glow. Padding and type size are computed from the component's own width through @container.
