Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-checkbox-017-* variables. A client component: "use client". The range logic hangs on onClick (shiftKey is available there), and onChange is left empty so that React does not complain about a controlled input. The anchor is the index of the last single tick. The header checkbox gets indeterminate through an effect, the selected rows are highlighted through tr:has(input:checked), and the table is wrapped in a container with overflow-x. The theme comes from the surrounding color-scheme through light-dark(): by default the component lays no panel under itself, sits directly on the page background and darkens along with it; the background prop brings the panel back.
