Geo Locate

An address field with a geolocation button: the Geolocation API fills in coordinates as text, and the status distinguishes a denied permission from missing support.

What you can change

  • the label, placeholder and defaultValue copy
  • the onLocate handler — wire real reverse geocoding to it
  • the statusText wording and the actionText button labels for your scenario

For developers

The install command lives in the “Component source” block below — a signed link that stays valid for 24 hours.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-inputgroup-038-* variables. Client-side: "use client" for the sake of the value and the locating status state. The browser hands back coordinates rather than a ready address — there is no reverse geocoding without a third-party service, so the button inserts the coordinates as text and warns explicitly that they have to be turned into an address by you. A denied permission and a missing Geolocation API are two different statuses with different text.
