Input Group

Command Copy

An install command with a $ sign on the left and a copy button on the right: the prefix is non-interactive, the field is read-only but selectable, and a denied clipboard falls back to selecting the text.

What you can change

  • the label copy, the defaultValue and the prefix sign
  • the copyText button labels and how long the confirmation stays visible
  • the hint text under the group

For developers

The install command lives in the “Component source” block below — a signed link that stays valid for 24 hours.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-inputgroup-040-* variables. Client-side: "use client" for the sake of the copy confirmation state. The «$» prefix is a non-interactive span with aria-hidden and user-select:none, a terminal sign rather than part of the value. The field is readonly but stays a real input and is selected whole on focus. The button tries navigator.clipboard.writeText with the sign and the command together, and on a refusal selects the field text instead of failing silently.
