Sortable

Reorderable Tile Grid

Reordering in a grid rather than a column: left and right arrows move a tile one position, up and down move it a whole row at a time.

What you can change

  • the tiles array, the title and the hint
  • columns — the number of grid columns
  • spotLabel, tileLabel and announcements — they take {item}, {position}, {total}, {spot}, {row} and {column}

For developers

The install command lives in the “Component source” block below — a signed link that stays valid for 24 hours.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in local variables --vibeui-sortable-005-*. Client-side: "use client" for the sake of the tile order. The column count arrives as a prop and is substituted both into grid-template-columns through a variable and into the keyboard move step, so the layout and the keyboard count rows the same way. The tile is a button, so focus and the arrows work without tabindex. The position is named by row and column, not by number alone; the result goes into a role=status live region. The theme comes from the surrounding color-scheme through light-dark(): the component has no surface of its own by default, it sits directly on the page background. The hint, the tile label and the live-region phrases are lifted into props, the Russian values remain the defaults.
