Background
Grain Gradient
A live grain gradient: large soft spots drift across the field under film grain — a tactile, 'printed' background. GPU-rendered, zero dependencies. For apps, personal pages, music and editorial projects.
React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.
What you can change
- speed — still, calm or lively; still draws a single frame with no loop
- intensity — faint, soft or bright: the accent strength; soft by default so the background does not fight the content
- grain — fine or heavy: the grain strength

The install command brings these components too. The block only passes them props: their palette and behaviour stay their own.

FAQ
- How do I add Grain Gradient with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Grain Gradient depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS. It also installs catalog components: mockup-010.
- What can I change in Grain Gradient?
- Adapt: speed — still, calm or lively; still draws a single frame with no loop; intensity — faint, soft or bright: the accent strength; soft by default so the background does not fight the content; grain — fine or heavy: the grain strength. Keep as installed: the mockup-010 imports from @/components/vibeui/ — do not inline their code into the block or swap in your own; the parts receive props only; the local --vibeui-surface-011-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the canvas resolution chosen for this effect — higher is invisible to the eye, lower breaks the picture.
- Is Grain Gradient free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes
A composite block: imports mockup-010 from @/components/vibeui/ — the install command brings them along with the block. The block owns the layout and its own text, passes the parts props only and leaves their --vibeui-<name>-* palettes alone. One file, zero npm dependencies, "use client". A WebGL2 fragment shader on a single triangle. The palette is CSS variables with light-dark; the shader reads them through the canvas computed border-color, so theme, accent and colors work identically for the canvas and the CSS fallback. Paused outside the viewport and in a hidden tab (IntersectionObserver, visibilitychange), prefers-reduced-motion and speed=still draw a single frame, without WebGL2 the radial-gradient fallback stays. Theme switches are caught by a MutationObserver on <html>. Palette --vibeui-surface-011-*.
