Background
Twisted ribbon
A living section background: a wide ribbon of spectrum crosses the frame diagonally and twists in the middle — there it turns edge-on, darkens and shows its back with the strands in reverse order. Drawn by a shader on the GPU, so the motion costs the processor nothing.
React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.
What you can change
- Offsets to the original palette colours — accent, tint, far, cool and sun in #rrggbb format
- Rotation strength — twist; zero preserves the original longitudinal fold

Technical notes
A folded 3D ribbon matching the Stripe reference. The vertex shader uses simplex noise with integer xxHash and three rotations with falloff. The 480 × 480 WebP palette is embedded, with no CDN requests. The first pass renders the mesh with depth testing and SRC_COLOR / ZERO blending; the second applies six-sample angular blur and grain. Initial time is 35000 ms at speed 0.00004; speed scales duration. The camera preserves proportions across container sizes. Colour props offset the original palette. Pixel density is capped at 2 and rendering runs every other animation frame. Off-screen and hidden tabs pause without time jumps. Reduced motion keeps a static frame; a gradient remains without WebGL 2.
