About

Couple's story as a film strip

“Our story” as a film strip: frames with perforated edges scroll horizontally with snap, each tilted slightly differently and straightening on hover, with a date, title and a couple of lines under the photo. A heading in italic serif on the left, arrows scroll by one frame, swipe and wheel work on their own.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • eyebrow, title, lede, frames (date, title, text, image, imageAlt)
  • prevLabel, nextLabel
  • accent and background, tone

Built from

The install command brings these components too. The block only passes them props: their palette and behaviour stay their own.

FAQ

How do I add Couple's story as a film strip with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Couple's story as a film strip depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS. It also installs catalog components: card-130.
What can I change in Couple's story as a film strip?
Adapt: eyebrow, title, lede, frames (date, title, text, image, imageAlt); prevLabel, nextLabel; accent and background, tone. Keep as installed: the card-130 imports from @/components/vibeui/ — do not inline their code into the block or swap in your own; the parts receive props only; the perforated film frames with the corner number — the section's main image; the varied tilt by nth-child and straightening on hover.
Is Couple's story as a film strip free?
The preview is open to everyone; the source is available with a PRO subscription.

Technical notes

A composite block: imports card-130 from @/components/vibeui/ — the install command brings them along with the block. The block owns the layout and its own text, passes the parts props only and leaves their --vibeui-<name>-* palettes alone. One file, zero npm dependencies, “use client” for the arrows (scrollBy by the first frame's width) and the wheel: vertical deltaY over the strip turns into horizontal scrolling, at the strip's edges it goes to the page. The strip is a <ul> with overflow-x:auto, scroll-snap-type:x mandatory, a hidden scrollbar and negative margins to the block edge. A frame is flex-basis min(78cqi,20rem); from 56rem flex:1 1 0 with min-width 15rem and max-width 22rem, so four frames fit without scrolling and five or more become a strip, tilt via --vibeui-about-011-tilt by nth-child, hover straightens and lifts. Perforation is a repeating-linear-gradient in ::before/::after of the dark film, the frame number “01A” in a corner with mix-blend-mode. Photos are 3:2 object-fit:cover with muted saturation. From 56rem the head is a grid: heading/lede left, arrows right. Palette --vibeui-about-011-* is neutral: ink and paper via light-dark(), the site colours come through the accent, ink and background props; dark theme via .dark/[data-theme] or tone. Cormorant Garamond and Manrope come via <link precedence> from Google Fonts with Georgia and system fallbacks. accent and background override colours, prefers-reduced-motion disables animations.
