Button Group

Sort Direction

Sort direction where the arrow is not swapped for another icon but rotated 180°: the same shape reversed reads more precisely than two pictures.

What you can change

  • the field name through field
  • the direction captions through ascLabel and descLabel
  • the order examples through ascHint and descHint

The install command lives in the “Component source” block below — a signed link that stays valid for 24 hours.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the --vibeui-buttongroup-028-* variables. It is a server component: the choice is held by radios inside a fieldset, and the rotation is described in CSS. The arrow is wrapped in [data-part="arrow"] and gets rotate:180deg on the segment with data-dir="desc" — the animation touches the wrapper, not the layout. The field name stands as the first non-interactive cell of the same border: without it "ascending" hangs in the air. The inner separators are drawn by [data-part="segment"] + [data-part="segment"] {border-inline-start}, there is a single border on the track, and the corners are clipped by overflow:hidden. The hint line shows an example of the order and is switched by :has rules, with both texts lying in the markup.
