Technical notes
Client component: useMemo groups options by their first letter (case-insensitively through toUpperCase) and sorts the letters alphabetically, and useState holds the selected value. The list is a real select with an <optgroup> per letter. The row of buttons above the field is built from the same letters: a click on a button finds the first option of that group, sets it as the value and moves focus to the select through useRef. The active letter is highlighted by data-active, computed from the current value. The palette lives in --vibeui-select-027-*.
