Editorial Grid

A twelve-column editorial grid: a lead story on eight, two margin notes, a row of three short pieces with numbers and rules. Rhythm by size and rules, no cards. For media, magazines, research and collections.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • heading and lead — the title and subtitle above the layout; without them — a ghost
  • items — slots in order: 01 lead story, 02 note, 03 note, 04 short piece, 05 short piece, 06 short piece; title/text/value/media
  • media — your own frame, video or a background from the Background category (surface-*) inside a slot, under the text

A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ

How do I add Editorial Grid with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Editorial Grid depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Editorial Grid?
Adapt: heading and lead — the title and subtitle above the layout; without them — a ghost; items — slots in order: 01 lead story, 02 note, 03 note, 04 short piece, 05 short piece, 06 short piece; title/text/value/media; media — your own frame, video or a background from the Background category (surface-*) inside a slot, under the text. Keep as installed: the imports from @/components/vibeui/ — do not inline their code into the block or swap in your own; the parts receive props only; the local --vibeui-layout-003-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the absence of cards: pieces are separated by rules and air, tile backgrounds and borders are off on purpose.
Is Editorial Grid free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

For developers

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/layout-003.json

This command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options

Technical notes

A composite block: imports from @/components/vibeui/ — the install command brings them along with the block. The block owns the layout and its own text, passes the parts props only and leaves their --vibeui-<name>-* palettes alone. One file, zero npm dependencies, JS only for the cursor light. A 12-column grid: lead spans 8 over two rows, two notes span 4, three short pieces span 4; on narrow widths everything is one column. Tiles without background or border, rules are border-top/left (data-rules), numbers are typographic indices above the piece. Slots: 01 lead story, 02 note, 03 note, 04 short piece, 05 short piece, 06 short piece — items[i] with title/text/value/media, without them — a ghost. Numbers (numbers) show which slot goes where. Entrance is scroll-driven via animation-timeline: view(), without support — a load cascade; hover — cursor light and edge highlight at the pointer. Palette --vibeui-layout-003-* with light-dark, container queries, DOM order = reading order.
