App Shell

An app shell: a sidebar, a topbar and a workspace with stats and a table. The sidebar collapses to icons without JS — a checkbox and :has(). The workspace owns the scroll. For dashboards, CRMs, analytics and admin panels.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • heading and lead — the title and subtitle above the layout; without them — a ghost
  • items — slots in order: 01 sidebar navigation, 02 topbar, 03 stat, 04 stat, 05 chart, 06 table; title/text/value/media
  • media — your own frame, video or a background from the Background category (surface-*) inside a slot, under the text

Technical notes

A composite block: imports from @/components/vibeui/ — the install command brings them along with the block. The block owns the layout and its own text, passes the parts props only and leaves their --vibeui-<name>-* palettes alone. One file, zero npm dependencies, JS only for the cursor light and useId for the sidebar checkbox. An auto/1fr grid from 48rem: a 16rem sidebar over two rows, a topbar, main with overflow: auto — the only scrolling container, the shell is min(44rem, 100dvh) tall. Collapsing: a hidden checkbox before the sidebar, a label in the topbar, :checked ~ aside narrows to 4.5rem and hides labels (data-collapsed — the initial state). On phones the sidebar is hidden, main in two columns. data-side=right moves the sidebar right. Slots: 01 sidebar navigation, 02 topbar, 03 stat, 04 stat, 05 chart, 06 table — items[i] with title/text/value/media, without them — a ghost. Numbers (numbers) show which slot goes where. Entrance is scroll-driven via animation-timeline: view(), without support — a load cascade; hover — cursor light and edge highlight at the pointer. Palette --vibeui-layout-008-* with light-dark, container queries, DOM order = reading order.
