Sortable List

A sortable list: native drag and drop plus arrow buttons — the only route available from a keyboard.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the items array, the title and the hint
  • the onChange handler
  • the moveUpLabel and moveDownLabel button labels — they take {item}, {position} and {total}

FAQ

How do I add Sortable List with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Sortable List depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Sortable List?
Adapt: the items array, the title and the hint; the onChange handler; the moveUpLabel and moveDownLabel button labels — they take {item}, {position} and {total}. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-sortable-001-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the move buttons: dragging is fundamentally unavailable from a keyboard; the position inside the button label — "now 3 of 5" is audible, order is not.
Is Sortable List free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

For developers

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/sortable-001.json

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in local variables --vibeui-sortable-001-*. Client-side: "use client" for the sake of the order. Moving is built on HTML5 drag and drop, so no library is needed; the "up" and "down" buttons give the same result from a keyboard and speak the row's current position aloud. The theme comes from the surrounding color-scheme through light-dark(): the component has no surface of its own by default, it sits directly on the page background and darkens along with it.
