Tree

Table of Contents

A table of contents that knows where the reader is: the branch down to the current section is open, the section itself is marked by a bar on the rail, and its ancestors are highlighted more faintly.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the structure through nodes: id, name, href and children on every node
  • the current section through activeId
  • the heading through title and the navigation name through label

A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ

How do I add Table of Contents with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Table of Contents depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Table of Contents?
Adapt: the structure through nodes: id, name, href and children on every node; the current section through activeId; the heading through title and the navigation name through label. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-tree-009-* palette: the component must look the same in any project; computing open on the server: client-side disclosure would flicker on hydration; aria-current=page on the current entry — colour alone tells a screen reader nothing.
Is Table of Contents free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

For developers

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/tree-009.json

This command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options

Technical notes

One file, zero dependencies, the --vibeui-tree-009-* palette. A server component: a native details with a computed open holds the disclosure, so the right state arrives from the server, never flickers on hydration, and the browser's own find-in-page reaches hidden entries. The branch opens through the holdsActive walk: every node is asked whether activeId lies inside it. The current entry carries aria-current=page and a bar placed exactly on the rail — the negative offset equals the rail's width, so the line and the mark never drift apart. Ancestors of the current entry get data-onpath and a fainter highlight. The tree is marked up as role=tree with explicit aria-level: a screen reader does not infer depth from nested details.
