Code Block

Error Range

A code block with a highlighted range of lines: a bar on the left, a wavy underline and a callout that says plainly what is wrong.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the listing rows through the lines array
  • the range bounds through errorFrom and errorTo
  • the callout text through message and the file through path

A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ

How do I add Error Range with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Error Range depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Error Range?
Adapt: the listing rows through the lines array; the range bounds through errorFrom and errorTo; the callout text through message and the file through path. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-codeblock-007-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; all three error cues at once: bar, tint and underline — colour alone reads poorly; the callout text: highlighting without an explanation leaves the reader guessing.
Is Error Range free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/codeblock-007.json

This command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, zero dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-codeblock-007-* variables. Server component: no hooks. The range is set by the errorFrom and errorTo numbers, the line number is printed by ::before through content: attr(data-line), and the error itself is marked by three independent signals: a bar on the left, a tint and text-decoration: underline wavy. Under the listing sits a paragraph with role=note and an upward arrow in a pseudo-element — it ties the highlight to the explanation text. The theme comes from the surrounding color-scheme through light-dark(): the block has no surface by default, and in the light branch the error hue is taken dark so that it does not read as a link.
