Code Block

Code Block

A code block that highlights a plain string: the language rules live inside the component, with no library on the client.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • code, title and language
  • line numbers through showNumbers and wrapping through wrap
  • the onCopy handler

FAQ

How do I add Code Block with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Code Block depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Code Block?
Adapt: code, title and language; line numbers through showNumbers and wrapping through wrap; the onCopy handler. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-codeblock-031-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the parsing inside the component: pulling in shiki or prism for the same handful of rules is not worth it; line numbers through a CSS counter and ::before — that keeps them out of the clipboard.
Is Code Block free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

For developers

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/codeblock-031.json

This command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, zero dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-codeblock-031-* variables. Client component: "use client" for the sake of copying. Highlighting is one regular expression per language (tsx, ts, js, json, bash) with named groups; the pass is shallow and colours comments, strings, numbers, keywords, JSX tags and command flags. Line numbers are printed by a CSS counter through ::before, so they never reach the clipboard with the code.
