FAQ
- How do I add Native Basic with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Native Basic depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Native Basic?
- Adapt: the field name through label, the explanation through hint and the choices through options; the focus color through accent; the field height and rounding through the palette variables. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-nativeselect-001-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the native <select>: on a phone the system opens the familiar wheel, which never drifts on zoom and needs no JS; pointer-events:none on the arrow — otherwise clicking it fails to open the list.
- Is Native Basic free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/nativeselect-001.jsonThis command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options
Technical notes
The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, palette in the local --vibeui-nativeselect-001-* variables. Server component: the only hook is useId. appearance:none removes the platform's own arrow, and a custom one is drawn instead from two borders of a square; the arrow is marked pointer-events:none, so the whole area of the field stays a target for the select itself. The right padding of the field is measured for the arrow: without it a long option slides underneath. The arrow lights up on focus through :has(select:focus-visible) on the wrapper. The list stays a system one — on a phone that is the familiar wheel, which does not break when the page is zoomed and needs no line of JS.
