Native Select
A dropdown in a border of its own: the system opens the list, so on a phone it is the familiar wheel rather than a homemade menu. The arrow is drawn in CSS.
React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.
What you can change
- the options array and its copy, plus the label and placeholder
- size: md inside a form, lg for a field standing on its own
- the accent through the accent prop — it colours the border, ring and arrow on focus
A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ
- How do I add Native Select with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Native Select depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Native Select?
- Adapt: the options array and its copy, plus the label and placeholder; size: md inside a form, lg for a field standing on its own; the accent through the accent prop — it colours the border, ring and arrow on focus. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-select-001-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens (bg-background, border-input and the like); the native <select> inside: replacing it with a list of divs gives up keyboard support, type-ahead and the native look on phones; appearance:none together with the right padding that reserves room for the arrow: without it the value slides underneath.
- Is Native Select free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.
For developers
npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/select-001.jsonThis command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options
Technical notes
The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in local variables --vibeui-select-001-*. Inside is a native <select> with appearance:none: the border, typography and arrow are ours, the list is drawn by the operating system. The arrow is two edges of a square rotated 45°, and no icon library is needed. The options are passed as the options array; the placeholder is added as the first disabled option with an empty value.
