Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-select-005-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the aria-describedby link to the explanation paragraph: otherwise a screen reader never gets it; role="status" on the explanation: the text change is announced without stealing focus from the field.

Technical notes

Client component: useState holds the value so that the description of the current option can be substituted. The explanation is linked to the field through aria-describedby and declared role="status", so a change of text is read aloud without moving focus. A description cannot be put inside an <option> — the system list draws text only, hence the separate paragraph. The palette lives in --vibeui-select-005-*, and there are no dependencies.
