Stepper

Process Stepper

A step indicator where completed steps are marked with a check, not colour alone. The line fills up to the current step, so progress reads without reading the labels.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the steps array: labels and the hints beneath them
  • current — the index of the active step, counting from zero
  • the accent through the accent prop — it colours completed circles and the line

A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ

How do I add Process Stepper with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Process Stepper depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Process Stepper?
Adapt: the steps array: labels and the hints beneath them; current — the index of the active step, counting from zero; the accent through the accent prop — it colours completed circles and the line. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-stepper-001-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens (bg-primary, border-border and the like); the check on completed steps: colour must not be the only signal, or the state disappears for colour-blind readers and in print; deriving every state from the single current number rather than per-step flags.
Is Process Stepper free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, zero dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-stepper-001-* variables. The step state (done, current, todo) is derived from the current prop and lands in a data attribute, which drives both the circle and the line. The line is a ::before on every step except the first, reaching back from the previous circle's centre. The current step is marked aria-current="step". In a narrow column the hints are hidden through @container, leaving the circles and the labels.
