Stepper

Progress Counter

A "step 2 of 5" numeric indicator with a percentage and a continuous progress bar — a compact stand-in for a ribbon when there is nowhere to put step names.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the step names through steps
  • the active step number through current
  • the counter's accessible name through label

FAQ

How do I add Progress Counter with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Progress Counter depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Progress Counter?
Adapt: the step names through steps; the active step number through current; the counter's accessible name through label. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-stepper-013-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the visually hidden ol with each step's state: a progress bar does not exist for a screen reader on its own; aria-hidden on the decorative track and fill: their meaning is already spoken by the counter text.
Is Progress Counter free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, zero dependencies, the palette in the --vibeui-stepper-013-* variables. Server component: no hooks. The visible part is the counter, the current step title and a single progress bar; track and fill are marked aria-hidden, because their meaning is already spoken by the text. The real step semantics live in a visually hidden ol: every item carries its state as a word, and aria-current sits on the current one. The percentage is computed as the ratio of the step's ordinal number to their total count.
