Validity Gated Submit

A submit button locked until the form is ready: a :has(:invalid) rule dims it without JS, and the hint below always keeps its space.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the field label through the label prop
  • the button label through the submitLabel prop
  • the hint text through the hint prop

A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ

How do I add Validity Gated Submit with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Validity Gated Submit depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Validity Gated Submit?
Adapt: the field label through the label prop; the button label through the submitLabel prop; the hint text through the hint prop. Keep as installed: the :has(:invalid) rule on the form: that is the mechanic, swapping it for JS state removes the point; native validation through required and type: the browser knows more about address formats than a hand-rolled check; visual dimming instead of the disabled attribute — a disabled button could not explain what is missing.
Is Validity Gated Submit free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-button-059-* variables. Server component, no JS is needed: the root is a <form>, and the form:has(:invalid) rule dims the button and shows the hint. Validity is computed by the browser from required and type="email", not by our code. The hint always occupies its space (visibility, not display), so the layout does not jump when the status changes. The button stays clickable for a screen reader — instead of disabled it is dimmed visually, and an attempt to submit shows the system message about the field.
