Button
Cancel With Elapsed
Cancelling a long operation with an honest timer: elapsed time ticks in monospace figures, and past a threshold the plate changes tone and explains the delay.
React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.
What you can change
- the cancel button's label
- the operation description through the task prop
- the running flag through the running prop, owned by your app

FAQ
- How do I add Cancel With Elapsed with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Cancel With Elapsed depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Cancel With Elapsed?
- Adapt: the cancel button's label; the operation description through the task prop; the running flag through the running prop, owned by your app. Keep as installed: the elapsed time: without it there is no telling whether the operation runs or hangs, and cancelling becomes guesswork; the slowAfter threshold and the tone change: it separates 'working' from 'something is wrong'; monospace digits with tabular-nums — otherwise the plate twitches every second.
- Is Cancel With Elapsed free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes
The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-button-061-* variables. Client component: the interval is started in a useEffect while running and cleared on a stop or on unmount, and the counter is reset on every start. The operation itself lives in the application — the component only counts the time and calls onCancel. The slowAfter threshold, in seconds, moves the plate into a warning tone through data-slow; the spinner and the border change colour together. The time is set in monospace with tabular-nums.
