Menu Hotkey

A menu of icon buttons where the tooltip on each item carries an embedded shortcut chip — one compact tag instead of a row of separate keys next to the caption.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the menu contents through items — a glyph, caption and shortcut per entry
  • the side the tooltip opens on, by swapping left for right in the tip rule
  • the chip colour through the --vibeui-tooltip-010-chip variable

A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ

How do I add Menu Hotkey with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Menu Hotkey depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Menu Hotkey?
Adapt: the menu contents through items — a glyph, caption and shortcut per entry; the side the tooltip opens on, by swapping left for right in the tip rule; the chip colour through the --vibeui-tooltip-010-chip variable. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-tooltip-010-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the tooltip without repeating the caption — the item already shows it as text, no need to duplicate; the shortcut chip as one line rather than separate keys: that is what reads as a single tag.
Is Menu Hotkey free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

For developers

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/tooltip-010.json

This command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in local variables --vibeui-tooltip-010-*. It is a server component: the tooltip rests on :hover and :focus-within of the item rather than of the whole panel. A menu item already shows the action caption as text, so the tooltip does not repeat it — it carries only the shortcut chip in a monospaced face. The tooltip opens to the right of the item rather than upwards, because the menu is built as a vertical list.
