Datalist Field

Suggestions on a native datalist: the browser owns the list and the filtering, and there is no client code at all.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the label and placeholder

FAQ

How do I add Datalist Field with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Datalist Field depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Datalist Field?
Adapt: the label and placeholder; the options array — where suggestions come from; the hint text under the field. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-autocomplete-001-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the datalist instead of a hand-rolled list: it is announced by screen readers and survives JS being off; the label/htmlFor and aria-describedby wiring — without it the field is nameless.
Is Datalist Field free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

For developers

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/autocomplete-001.json

This command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-autocomplete-001-* variables. The field is linked to the <datalist> through list and a shared useId, the label through htmlFor, and the hint under the field through aria-describedby. The arrow is drawn with two borders, so no icon package is needed. A server component: there are no state hooks.
