No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Mention Picker?
Adapt: the people array: name, handle and role; the label, placeholder and starting text; the onChange handler. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-autocomplete-011-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; opening on the @ rather than on focus: a mention lives mid-sentence; ending the token at a space — otherwise the list hangs around to the end of the paragraph.
Is Mention Picker free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-autocomplete-011-* variables. Client-side: "use client". The mention token is computed from the last @ up to the caret and ends at a space, so the list goes out by itself. The caret position is tracked on onChange, onKeyUp and onClick. The avatar is initials on a hue computed from the name: the sum of the character codes modulo 360 is handed to a local hue variable.
