Ranked Matches
A search where matches are ordered by relevance and the matched fragment is highlighted: the start of a string outranks the start of a word, and mid-word matches come last.
React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

Technical notes
The component is self-contained: one file, zero dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-combobox-015-* variables. Client component: the query and the value live in useState. The ranking is done by the scoreOf function: it returns a rank (0 for a match at the start of the string, 1 at the start of a word, 2 inside a word) and the position of the occurrence. The sort goes by rank, then by position, then alphabetically — three keys give a stable order with no jitter while typing. The highlighting does not use dangerouslySetInnerHTML: the string is cut into three pieces by index and the middle one is wrapped in a semantic <mark>, so the highlighting survives any text, including markup characters. The rank is labelled in words on the right, so that the order is explainable rather than magical.
