Simple Navmenu

The plainest drop-down site menu: a column of links with no blurbs or pictures, with the name attribute on details doing the mutual closing.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the groups array: sections, their items and hrefs
  • the width of the drop-down column
  • the accent through the accent prop — it colours the focus rings

A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ

How do I add Simple Navmenu with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Simple Navmenu depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Simple Navmenu?
Adapt: the groups array: sections, their items and hrefs; the width of the drop-down column; the accent through the accent prop — it colours the focus rings. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-navmenu-003-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens (bg-popover, border-border and the like); the shared name attribute on <details>: without it every section opens at once; flipping the caret from the open attribute — a button's state must read on the button itself.
Is Simple Navmenu free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

For developers

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/navmenu-003.json

This command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in local variables --vibeui-navmenu-003-*. Server-side: no hooks. A section with sub-items is a <details> with a shared name attribute, so the browser itself keeps only one open. The menu is positioned absolutely from its own wrapper, anchor positioning is not required. The caret on the button flips from the open attribute, so the state reads on the button itself. Sections without sub-items are plain links.
