Nested Contents

A two-level outline that does not dump every sub-item at once: only the chapter the reader is currently inside stays expanded.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the outline heading through title
  • the chapters and sub-items through chapters and the nested children
  • the accent colour through accent

A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ

How do I add Nested Contents with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Nested Contents depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Nested Contents?
Adapt: the outline heading through title; the chapters and sub-items through chapters and the nested children; the accent colour through accent. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-scrollspy-003-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; expanding only the current chapter: a fully expanded tree ends up longer than the text; observing both levels at once — otherwise a sub-item never becomes active.
Is Nested Contents free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

For developers

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/scrollspy-003.json

This command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, the palette in local variables --vibeui-scrollspy-003-*. Client-side ("use client") — IntersectionObserver is needed. The observer watches the sections of both levels at once, so a chapter and its sub-item can each become active. Expansion of the second level is not held in state: the list is shown by the rule li[data-open="true"] > [data-part="sub"], where data-open is derived from whether the chapter or any of its descendants is active. The links are plain anchors, the highlight runs through aria-current on both levels.
