Labelled Progress

A progress bar with a label and an honest unknown-duration state: when the percentage is not known, the component does not invent one.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • value — a number from 0 to 100, or null when the duration is unknown
  • label — what is being done
  • hint — the right-hand caption when a percentage is wrong: "3 of 8", "12 MB"

A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ

How do I add Labelled Progress with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Labelled Progress depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Labelled Progress?
Adapt: value — a number from 0 to 100, or null when the duration is unknown; label — what is being done; hint — the right-hand caption when a percentage is wrong: "3 of 8", "12 MB". Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-progress-001-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens (bg-primary, bg-secondary and the like); the two states as genuinely different: an unknown duration must not be shown as an invented percentage; the accessibility markup: role="progressbar", aria-valuemin, aria-valuemax and aria-valuenow only when the value is known.
Is Labelled Progress free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

For developers

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/progress-001.json

This command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in local variables --vibeui-progress-001-*. The fill is computed from the --vibeui-progress-001-value variable, so the width of the bar is set by a number and not by a string with a percent sign. value={null} turns on the unknown-duration state: a segment travels along the track by animation and aria-valuenow is not set. The value is clamped to the 0–100 range.
