Technical notes

A server component, no hooks. The caption position is set by the number of grid columns: center — 1fr auto 1fr, start — auto 1fr, end — 1fr auto, so the lines always meet the pill without manual margins. The pill carries its own fill and border — the popular trick of painting the text with the page colour falls apart over a gradient or an image, where the caption ends up in a rectangle of a foreign colour. The root has role=separator and an aria-label with the caption text, so the boundary is both audible and named. The pill is light with dark text, so the component needs no surface under it.
