Dashed Rule Divider
A dashed divider with a controllable pattern: dash length and gap are set as numbers, so the same dash repeats identically across the layout.
React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.
What you can change
- the dash length through dash in pixels
- the space between dashes through gap in pixels
- the captions through above, below, doneText and the dashText template with {dash} and {gap}

FAQ
- How do I add Dashed Rule Divider with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Dashed Rule Divider depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Dashed Rule Divider?
- Adapt: the dash length through dash in pixels; the space between dashes through gap in pixels; the captions through above, below, doneText and the dashText template with {dash} and {gap}. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-separator-004-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the gradient instead of border-dashed: a border's dash length depends on the browser; the hr tag with its border removed — this is a semantic boundary, not a decorative div.
- Is Dashed Rule Divider free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes
A server component, no hooks. border-style:dashed draws a dash whose length depends on the browser and on the border thickness — the same dash pattern cannot be reproduced in two places of a layout that way. Here the line is built with repeating-linear-gradient, where the dash length and the gap are exposed as the --vibeui-separator-004-dash and --vibeui-separator-004-gap variables and substituted from props in pixels. The divider uses an hr tag with its border removed, so the boundary is visible to a screen reader as well. The component is shown in the context of two section rows; there is no background by default, the palette is declared through light-dark() and follows the surrounding theme. All captions are exposed as props: above, below, doneText and the dashText template, where {dash} and {gap} are substituted with numbers.
