Checkbox & toggles
Permission Matrix
A permissions table: rows are resources, columns are actions, and the checkbox in a column header turns the action on for every resource at once.
React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.
What you can change
- rows and columns — any set of resources and actions, not only permissions
- title and rowsLabel — the block heading and the corner-cell caption
- the initial defaultValue built from "rowId:colId" keys
A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ
- How do I add Permission Matrix with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Permission Matrix depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Permission Matrix?
- Adapt: rows and columns — any set of resources and actions, not only permissions; title and rowsLabel — the block heading and the corner-cell caption; the initial defaultValue built from "rowId:colId" keys. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-checkbox-023-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the semantic <table> with <th scope="row"> and <th scope="col">: the link between a resource and an action has to reach the screen reader from markup, not visual alignment; the "rowId:colId" cell key: value serialises to a string array from it unambiguously.
- Is Permission Matrix free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes
The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the local --vibeui-checkbox-023-* variables. A client component: "use client". The markup is a semantic <table>: <th scope="row"> names the resource, and a <th scope="col"> with a checkbox names the action and drives the whole column. The column master's indeterminate is set through an effect on every value change, because React does not pass that DOM property through props. A cell key is "rowId:colId", so value serialises to a plain string array as is. On narrow screens the table gets its own horizontal scroll through a wrapper with overflow-x instead of widening the page. The theme comes from the surrounding color-scheme through light-dark().
