Technical notes
A client component: useState holds the selected option and the text of the custom answer. The field is not hidden but disabled — a vanishing field jolts the form and hides the very option of answering in words; disabled also takes it out of the Tab order and prevents an empty string from being submitted. The character counter appears only while the field is active. The circle's mark is drawn with a radial gradient in its background. The --vibeui-radio-008-* palette is built on light-dark(): the component follows the page color-scheme and lays no surface of its own by default.
