FAQ
- How do I add Resizable Columns with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Resizable Columns depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Resizable Columns?
- Adapt: the line under the toolbar through caption; the lower column width bound through minWidth, in pixels; the file list through rows. Keep as installed: the imports from @/components/vibeui/ — do not inline their code into the block or swap in your own; the parts receive props only; the local --vibeui-datagrid-009-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; role="separator" with aria-valuenow and arrow keys: without them a column width cannot be set from the keyboard.
- Is Resizable Columns free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes
A composite block: imports from @/components/vibeui/ — the install command brings them along with the block. The block owns the layout and its own text, passes the parts props only and leaves their --vibeui-<name>-* palettes alone. The component is self-contained: one file, no npm dependencies, the palette in --vibeui-datagrid-009-*. A client component: the widths live in state and the drag draft in a ref, so that pointer movement does not drive extra renders. The separator is a button with role=separator, aria-orientation, aria-valuenow, aria-valuemin and aria-valuemax; the left and right arrows change the width in steps of 16 px, so a column can be set up without a mouse. The pointer is captured through setPointerCapture: without it the drag breaks the moment the cursor leaves the header. The widths are applied to the colgroup under table-layout:fixed, otherwise the browser recomputes them from the content. The cell content is truncated with an ellipsis, and the full value stays in title. The theme comes from the surrounding color-scheme through light-dark(): by default the grid lays no panel under itself, it sits on the page background, while the background prop switches on a panel of its own.
