Data Grid
Density Switch
A grid with a density switch: compact, regular and roomy change the padding, the type size and the row height at once, and the roomy setting reveals a note.
React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.
What you can change

FAQ
- How do I add Density Switch with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Density Switch depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Density Switch?
- Adapt: the line under the toolbar through caption; the initial density through density: compact, regular or roomy; the panel heading through heading and the switch caption through densityLegend. Keep as installed: the imports from @/components/vibeui/ — do not inline their code into the block or swap in your own; the parts receive props only; the local --vibeui-datagrid-027-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the switch as radio buttons inside a fieldset: this is one choice of three, not three buttons.
- Is Density Switch free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes
A composite block: imports from @/components/vibeui/ — the install command brings them along with the block. The block owns the layout and its own text, passes the parts props only and leaves their --vibeui-<name>-* palettes alone. The component is self-contained: one file, no npm dependencies, the palette in --vibeui-datagrid-027-*. A client component: useState holds the mode, which goes into data-density on the root; three variables — the padding, the type size and the leading — are overridden by a single selector per mode, so no new rules for the cells are needed. Density here is not only about padding: in the roomy mode a second line with a note is shown, which the compact mode does not have — otherwise "roomy" is just air. The switch is assembled from radio buttons inside a fieldset: this is a choice of one out of three, not three independent buttons. The current state is duplicated in text with role=status. The theme comes from the surrounding color-scheme through light-dark(): by default the table lays no panel under itself, it sits directly on the page background and darkens along with it.
