Data Grid
Grid Search
A grid with search across every column: matches are highlighted with a real mark tag, and the counter separates the number of hits from the number of rows.
React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

FAQ
- How do I add Grid Search with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Grid Search depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Grid Search?
- Adapt: the line under the toolbar through caption; the field hint text through placeholder; the starting query through defaultQuery and the hidden field label through searchLabel. Keep as installed: the imports from @/components/vibeui/ — do not inline their code into the block or swap in your own; the parts receive props only; the local --vibeui-datagrid-018-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the real mark tag for highlighting: a span with a background carries no «found» meaning.
- Is Grid Search free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes
A composite block: imports from @/components/vibeui/ — the install command brings them along with the block. The block owns the layout and its own text, passes the parts props only and leaves their --vibeui-<name>-* palettes alone. The component is self-contained: one file, no npm dependencies, the palette in --vibeui-datagrid-018-*. A client component: useState holds the query and the "matches only" mode, and useId ties the field to its hidden label. The value of a cell is cut into pieces around the matches and highlighted with a real mark tag — the semantics of highlighting come for free, and a background variable of its own sits under it. Matches and rows are counted separately: a single "4 found" does not answer whether four means rows or occurrences. The counter is declared role=status and aria-live. Rows without matches are muted rather than hidden until the filtering mode is switched on; the scrolling is moved into a container with role=region and tabindex=0. The theme comes from the surrounding color-scheme through light-dark(): by default the grid lays no panel under itself, it sits directly on the page background and darkens along with it. The defaultQuery prop keeps acting after mounting: what the reader types is stored alongside the prop rather than instead of it.
