Technical notes
One file, zero dependencies, the --vibeui-dropdown-006-* palette. A client component: useState holds the submenu disclosure. The first level is an HTML popover with anchor positioning, and the second is an ordinary absolutely positioned layer inside it: a nested popover=auto would close the parent, because opening a second auto popup dismisses the first. The parent item is marked aria-haspopup=menu and aria-expanded, and the submenu is a role=menu with an aria-label. The right arrow opens the submenu and puts the focus on the first item, the left one closes it and returns the focus; without that there is no keyboard way out of the submenu. The side prop changes which way it opens. The palette is moved to light-dark(): in a dark environment the panel is lighter than the page background and its border lighter than the panel.
