FAQ

How do I add Described Items with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Described Items depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Described Items?
Adapt: the button caption through trigger; the menu width through menuWidth; the items, their descriptions and glyphs through items. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-dropdown-010-* palette: the component must look the same in any project; the grid inside an item: the glyph must span both rows or the description creeps under it; the aria-describedby link between item and description — otherwise a screen reader reads it as loose text.
Is Described Items free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes

One file, zero dependencies, the --vibeui-dropdown-010-* palette. A client component only for the sake of the arrow-key navigation. An item is assembled as a grid: the glyph spans both rows, with the name and the description to the right, so the text does not run over the icon when it wraps. The description is tied to the item through aria-describedby rather than merely sitting beside it. The menu width is set by the --vibeui-dropdown-010-width variable from the menuWidth prop: a two-line description inside a narrow menu turns to mush. Opening comes from the HTML popover, and the placement from anchor-name and position-area inside @supports.
