Technical notes
One file, zero dependencies, the --vibeui-dropdown-018-* palette. A client component: useState holds the query, the pick and the menu's open state for aria-expanded and for the filtering. The trigger is a small round button: a dashed border while no assignee is set, solid and carrying initials after the pick. After opening, the focus goes into the search field on the toggle event rather than through autoFocus, otherwise it would move away when the page mounts. The list is marked up role=menuitemradio with aria-checked, and on an empty result there is a "Nobody found" line. Opening comes from the HTML popover with anchor positioning inside @supports and a fallback position:absolute on a position:relative root.
