Scroll reading: a bookmark progress, margin footnotes, ink underlines

An essay excerpt for reading: a narrow 65-character column with a drop cap, a sticky bookmark on the left with a percentage read, footnotes in the right margin that appear when their paragraph reaches mid-screen (IntersectionObserver), and at that moment highlighted phrases get an ink underline — background-size grows from 0 to 100%. Inline markup: ==phrase== and [1].

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • eyebrow, title, source
  • paragraphs with ==phrase== and [n] markup, notes — footnote texts by number
  • progressLabel, actionLabel, actionHref

The install command brings these components too. The block only passes them props: their palette and behaviour stay their own.

FAQ

How do I add Scroll reading: a bookmark progress, margin footnotes, ink underlines with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Scroll reading: a bookmark progress, margin footnotes, ink underlines depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS. It also installs catalog components: button-077.
What can I change in Scroll reading: a bookmark progress, margin footnotes, ink underlines?
Adapt: eyebrow, title, source; paragraphs with ==phrase== and [n] markup, notes — footnote texts by number; progressLabel, actionLabel, actionHref. Keep as installed: the button-077 imports from @/components/vibeui/ — do not inline their code into the block or swap in your own; the parts receive props only; a paragraph is [data-part=para] with grid; from 64rem two columns minmax(0,65ch) 15rem, notes in the right one; IntersectionObserver with rootMargin 0 0 -35% sets data-seen once and unobserves; the underline is mark with background:linear-gradient(...) no-repeat 0 0/0% 100% → 100% 100% on [data-seen], 1s transition.
Is Scroll reading: a bookmark progress, margin footnotes, ink underlines free?
The preview is open to everyone; the source is available with a PRO subscription.

Technical notes

A composite block: imports button-077 from @/components/vibeui/ — the install command brings them along with the block. The block owns the layout and its own text, passes the parts props only and leaves their --vibeui-<name>-* palettes alone.
