Half Stars
Half stars without a line of JS: the fill is a stripe over the grey row, and its width comes from the checked radio through :has().
React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

FAQ
- How do I add Half Stars with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Half Stars depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Half Stars?
- Adapt: legend — the question above the row; name — the radio group name in the form; defaultValue — the pre-selected score. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-rating-002-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the fill stripe over the grey row: cutting stars in half would need icons, while percentages are enough here; the radios under the hit zones: they hand over keyboard support, form submission and group semantics for free.
- Is Half Stars free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.
For developers
npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/rating-002.jsonThis command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options
Technical notes
The component is self-contained: one file, zero dependencies, the palette in the local --vibeui-rating-002-* variables. Server component: everything rests on radio buttons and :has(). The halves are made not from cut-up stars but from a fill stripe over the grey row — any granularity comes down to a single percentage in the --vibeui-rating-002-fill variable. The hit zones are ten transparent labels half a star wide, positioned absolutely over the row; a mouse selection lands on a half, while the arrow keys work as in an ordinary radio group.
