Readonly Overflow

A read-only tag list with a hidden counter: a silently truncated list reads as complete, and "+3" fixes that.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • label — the heading above the list
  • tags — the label list itself
  • visible — how many tags to show before collapsing

A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ

How do I add Readonly Overflow with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Readonly Overflow depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Readonly Overflow?
Adapt: label — the heading above the list; tags — the label list itself; visible — how many tags to show before collapsing. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-tags-007-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the transparent background by default — the component sits on the page background instead of laying a panel under itself; the hidden counter: a silently truncated list reads as complete and misrepresents the data.
Is Readonly Overflow free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, zero dependencies, its palette in local variables --vibeui-tags-007-*. A server component: there is nothing to expand here, this is a display, not a form. The visible tags are shown as an ordinary ul, and the extra ones collapse into a "+N" counter; their names are listed in title and aria-label, so what is hidden can be found by hover and heard by a screen reader. Markup as a list rather than a set of spans: this is an enumeration and a screen reader has to announce the number of items.
