Technical notes

A client component: useState holds the selected year and the current decade, which is why "use client" is needed. The grid of twelve buttons is the decade's ten years plus one year on each side: crossing the boundary (1999 from the 2000s grid) takes a single press, without paging back with an arrow. The neighbouring years are marked data-outside and dimmed, but stay pressable. Going outside min/max switches the button off through disabled and strikes the label through, and the arrows are locked when the next decade lies entirely outside the range. The selected year is marked aria-pressed, so a screen reader reports the state without an extra caption.
