Filter Date Chip
A date in a filter bar as one chip among the rest: the value is spelled out on the chip, the month grid opens as an overlay panel and closes right after a pick.
React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.
What you can change
- label — the filter caption to the left of the value
- defaultValue — the date selected at first render, as a YYYY-MM-DD string
- neighbours — captions of the sibling chips that show the filter-bar context

FAQ
- How do I add Filter Date Chip with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Filter Date Chip depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Filter Date Chip?
- Adapt: label — the filter caption to the left of the value; defaultValue — the date selected at first render, as a YYYY-MM-DD string; neighbours — captions of the sibling chips that show the filter-bar context. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-calendar-029-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens (bg-popover, border-border and the like); the clear button as a separate element beside the chip: a button inside a button is invalid markup and broken keyboard support; aria-expanded and aria-controls on the chip — otherwise the panel state is never announced.
- Is Filter Date Chip free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes
The component is self-contained: one file, zero dependencies, its own palette in local variables --vibeui-calendar-029-*. Client-side: the value, the panel's openness and the month on show live in useState. The panel is positioned absolutely against the [data-part="anchor"] wrapper with position:relative, so it needs neither a portal nor coordinate maths. The chip button carries aria-expanded and aria-controls, Escape is caught by a handler on the root and closes the panel, and picking a day closes it as well. The clear button is placed beside the chip rather than nested inside it: an interactive element inside a button is invalid markup, broken for both the keyboard and a screen reader. The grid is built on 42 cells from Monday, and days of neighbouring months are marked data-outside. The theme comes from the surrounding color-scheme through light-dark(): the filter row has no surface of its own by default, it sits directly on the page background and darkens along with it, while the background prop brings the panel back. The panel itself has a surface of its own — --vibeui-calendar-029-panel: a popover has to be opaque, otherwise the month grid lands on the text beneath it. The captions of the clear and paging buttons arrive in props, the Russian values sit in the defaults.
